Figure 01 — Protoplanetary disc

HD 142527

A spiral of dust caught mid-formation, its gap carved by a planet we have never seen. The disc is 1,400 AU across and still forming.

Figure 02 — Emission nebula

Sh2-233

Hydrogen-alpha filaments climbing a molecular cloud wall, lit from behind by newborn massive stars still wrapped in their cocoons.

Figure 03 — Globular cluster

NGC 6626

One hundred and fifty thousand stars bound in a sphere a hundred and fifty light years across — the remains of a galaxy eaten by the Milky Way.
