One sheet,
one afternoon.

A sheet of Ledgerline notepaper, folded on a classroom windowsill, followed from the first crease to the last skid across the playground. Scroll, and it flies.

01 · Fold

Crease the nose

Two diagonal folds to a sharp point, pressed flat with a thumbnail. The paper remembers every line you give it.

02 · Launch

Out the window

A flick of the wrist past the radiator and the open sash. For a heartbeat it hangs, nose up, deciding.

03 · Updraft

Warm air off the bricks

The south wall breathes heat into the sky. The plane climbs without trying, wings trembling like a held note.

04 · Loop

The unplanned loop

A gust from the gym roof turns it over once, completely. Nobody saw. It counts anyway.

05 · Landing

Skid on the hopscotch

It settles across square seven, a little damp, a little proud. Somewhere a bell rings for the end of the day.
