Atelier Kestrel
Room 01 / 06 · Threshold
01 — THRESHOLD

Every house
begins at
the door.

We design rooms that slow you down. Step in, turn the block, and walk the six chambers of our practice.

02 — LIGHT

We draw
with the sun.

Clerestories, slots, and wells placed by tracking the year's shadow across a model for twelve months.

03 — MATERIAL

Lime, oak,
rammed earth.

Materials chosen to age gracefully: walls that darken where hands rest, floors that remember footsteps.

04 — GARDEN

The outside
is a room too.

Courtyards planted before walls rise, so that the building grows around something already alive.

05 — SOUND

Quiet is
a material.

We tune ceilings like instruments, so a whisper carries across a library and rain lands softly on a roof.

06 — ARCHIVE

Forty years,
nineteen houses.

Each one still lived in. Write to the studio at the end of the lane in Haverly; we answer every letter by hand.
