Object 01 — Cast basalt, polished

Nothing
to prove.

A single mass, cut on one plane and left otherwise alone. Obsidian is designed to catch the light you already have — a window, a desk lamp, a late afternoon — and return it quietly, without spectacle.

01 — Weight

It stays put.

2.4 kilograms of dense basalt, machined flat on the underside and finished with a felt base. It does not slide when you set down a cup beside it.

Mass 2.4 kgFoot 90 × 60 mm
02 — Silence

It keeps quiet.

No logo, no plaque, no explanation on the object itself. The only mark is a hairline gold edge, visible only when the light happens to find it.

03 — Light

It returns some.

Polished to 0.4 microns on the front plane, left matte elsewhere. The result is a surface that behaves differently at 9am and 5pm, without ever asking to be looked at.
