THE ASCENT

scroll to climb

CAMP 01
“We leave the valley floor as the last light fails.”

Behind us, the afternoon is already a memory. Ahead, only a line of dark granite going up.

CAMP 02
“Night is a door. The mountain keeps its own hours.”

The cold arrives not gradually but all at once, like a held breath finally released.

CAMP 03
“Stars, then wind, then snow. No one climbs alone.”

Your lamp is a small coin of warmth. Around it, the dark is patient and enormous.

CAMP 04
“Pre-dawn: the world turns rose.”

The ridge glows before the sun does. Everything below us is still asleep in indigo.

CAMP 05
“Above the clouds, light returns to the world.”

We have crossed the weather. From here the earth is a cloud-sea, and we are its island.
