Chapter one

The Story

  • 5:04the hour of the dew
  • 19ingredients
  • 3years in the making

Rosée began with a single hour: the blue minutes before sunrise, when the roses hold the night’s dew and nothing yet smells of the day. Our perfumer walked the rows with a notebook and no plan. What she brought back was not a rose in full sun, but a rose still waiting, cool and green-edged and lit from within.

We kept that restraint. Pink pepper and pear give the first bright breath. Damask rose and peony open slowly at the heart, with lily of the valley for the glint of water. Underneath, sandalwood and ambrette stay close to the skin, like the last of the dew lifting in the morning light.

Céleste Morvane, perfumer

“I wanted the rose before anyone was awake to see it.”
