Each pane is a Voronoi cell: the piece of glass closer to its own seed than to any other. Move a seed and the lead came flows after it, the way a glazier redraws the full-size cartoon before a single piece is cut.

The deep blue of Chartres, the famous bleu de Chartres, came from cobalt-coloured glass set in lead in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. These panes are cut from arithmetic instead.
