MOVE/A manifesto in motion

MOVE — a manifesto in motion

A manifesto
in motion.

Seven statements on motion, attention and design. Each one is a scene; each scene is played by your scroll. Slow down and it slows down. Stop and it holds the frame. Your scroll is the playhead.

SC. 01 / 07Assembly

Nothing arrives whole.

Meaning is put together in the eye, one fragment at a time. Design the arrival, not just the destination.

SC. 02 / 07Stretch

Time is material.

Duration has weight and grain, like colour or type. Hold a moment longer and it starts to speak.

SC. 03 / 07Split

Transitions are the content.

The cut is not the gap between ideas. It is where the viewer does the work, and where the work is remembered.

SC. 04 / 07Cascade

Every move sets off the next.

Choreograph in chains. Every motion should have a visible cause, and cause something in turn.

SC. 05 / 07Rotate

Look again. Then closer.

Attention is not a click, it is a return. Give people a reason to turn the thing over.

SC. 06 / 07Type

If it moves, it must mean something.

Animation is a claim. If a movement cannot say why it exists, delete it. The caret will wait.

SC. 07 / 07Zoom

Stop watching. Move.

Every manifesto ends where the reader begins. Go through the letter.

MOVE is an original typographic study. Seven statements, seven motions, one rule: every transform is driven by your scroll, and nothing moves without a reason.

Display set in your system’s heaviest condensed sans; the M-O-V-E lettering is drawn by hand in SVG. Annotations in monospace. Three colours, no images.
